Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and a hashed password when you sign up.
• Content you submit: video files, links, transcripts, or descriptions you provide to generate clips, along with the clips, captions, and metadata generated from them.
• Connected platform data: where you connect a social account for scheduling/publishing, the minimum authorization needed to post on your behalf.
• Billing information: handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers ourselves.
• Usage data: credit ledger entries, API request logs, and basic product analytics needed to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use information

We use collected information to provide the Service (generating clips, captions, and scheduling), process payments, respond to support requests, secure accounts, and — only with your consent — send product updates or marketing communications.

Submitted video/transcript content is processed by our AI providers (currently Anthropic's Claude, for clip-planning and captioning reasoning) solely to generate your requested output — it is not used to train third-party foundation models.

3. Sharing

We share information with service providers who help us operate OptimaClip — hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), payments (Stripe), and AI processing (Anthropic) — under agreements limiting their use of your data to providing services to us. Where you enable publishing to a connected social platform, the relevant clip content is shared with that platform per your instruction. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your account and associated content via the contact page.

5. Your choices

You can access and update most account information directly in your dashboard, disconnect connected social platforms at any time, and request account deletion or a copy of your data by contacting us.

6. Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. API keys are stored as hashes, not plaintext. Access to production data is limited to what's needed to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

OptimaClip is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will update the date above.
